Can You Leave and Re-enter The O2 During a Concert?

Do not plan on leaving The O2 arena and returning on the same ticket. Its current venue terms generally prohibit re-admission after you leave the venue. Walking from the arena bowl to internal toilets or refreshment points is a different situation: you can take a break without treating an exit as a way back in.

By Kpop From Seoul · The O2 arena terms and visitor guidance checked 27 October 2026. This guide concerns London’s arena, rather than every venue carrying an O2 name.

“Outside my seat” and “outside the venue” are different

Section 8.1 of The O2’s venue terms separates leaving the venue from using refreshments or washrooms while still inside it. Limited exceptions to re-admission are at the operator’s discretion. A ticket does not give you a general promise that you can leave and scan it again.

The name can make this feel confusing. The O2 is a wider entertainment destination containing several spaces. A restaurant beneath the same dome is not automatically inside your concert’s ticketed area. Before following a friend toward an exit, ask a steward whether that route crosses the arena’s admission boundary.

Three everyday situations to plan around

Decide before crossing a gate
You want to…Practical next step
Use a toilet during the showAsk for the internal facilities on your level.
Eat in the wider complexPlan it before initial entry or after the show.
Meet someone outsideArrange the meeting before entering, rather than assuming you can return.

You can make a break simpler without leaving the arena

The arena’s current visitor guide describes food and drink outlets after ticket scanning, along with internal facilities and staff help. Find the closest useful route when you arrive, while you have time to ask a clear question.

A helpful sentence is: “Can I get there and return to my seat without leaving the arena?” Point to the place you mean. “Can I go outside?” is less precise, especially when you are talking about a concourse, the main entertainment area, or the street.

If you are attending with friends, agree on a meeting point within your permitted area. Keep your phone charged and your ticket accessible. Those are practical ways to stay together; another person’s ticket screenshot is not a plan for your own return.

Check the venue name before borrowing another fan’s advice

The O2 arena and indigo at The O2 have separate visitor pages. Indigo’s own guidance also states a no-re-entry policy. That does not make their entrances, facilities or layouts interchangeable. Begin with the exact venue printed on your ticket.

For a particular concert, save its current event page and pre-event email with your ticket. If you need to leave unexpectedly, speak to staff before crossing the exit. Explain your situation and ask what is possible; do not assume an exception will be available after you have already gone.

Our soundcheck, doors and show-time guide helps you place dinner before entry. Before packing, use our concert bag-rule checklist and then read the venue’s own current rules.

What would you check first?

At a new venue, would you find the internal toilets or your meeting point first?
