ITZY Songs for Beginners: Originals and English Versions
Start with “WANNABE” for individuality and dance-pop, “DALLA DALLA” for ITZY’s debut statement, or “Not Shy” for quick beats and a saxophone-driven love song. All three also have official English recordings, so you can choose a song first and then decide which language version to hear.
This short route pairs the original videos with the group’s own English audio. It is our suggested introduction to three early releases, with a different next song for each starting point.

ITZY is a five-member group under JYP Entertainment. The official profile lists Yeji, Lia, Ryujin, Chaeryeong and Yuna. You can begin with a song before learning every name.

WANNABE: begin with individuality
“WANNABE” is our first suggestion if you want a song centered on being yourself. JYP’s IT’z ME introduction describes its blend of EDM, house and hip-hop, with a message about expressing your own identity instead of living by other people’s standards.
The original video turns that idea into visible actions, including a barefoot runway walk after discarded heels. Compare the individual scenes with the group choreography: it gives you a way into the song’s theme without needing a full lyric translation.

DALLA DALLA: hear the debut message
Choose “DALLA DALLA” if you want to start at the beginning of ITZY’s catalog. It is the title track of the 2019 debut release IT’z Different. The official release description connects its EDM, house and hip-hop mixture with respecting and loving yourself.
That makes it a useful companion to “WANNABE”: both introduce self-assurance, but you can compare the debut track with the later single and decide which one you want to replay. Starting here is about hearing the original introduction, rather than following a popularity ranking.

Not Shy: change the subject to love
“Not Shy” offers a different first step if quick rhythms and an assertive love song appeal to you. JYP’s 2020 release description identifies it as an up-tempo R&B dance track with quick beats and saxophone, built around openly expressing romantic feelings.
Its original video includes chase scenes in a wilderness setting alongside group choreography. Follow that change of setting after “WANNABE”: the subject moves from personal identity toward telling someone what you feel.

Are the English versions official?
Yes. ITZY recorded these songs in English. JYP released Not Shy (English Ver.) on January 22, 2021, with four tracks: “Not Shy,” “WANNABE,” “ICY” and “DALLA DALLA,” each labeled as an English version.
The links below lead to JYP-supplied recordings on ITZY’s official YouTube artist channel. Choose the same song you liked above to compare its vocals in English. An English recording changes the audio; translated captions change only the text on screen.

If WANNABE’s individuality interests you, try SNEAKERS — official video. Its release introduction returns to moving freely beyond other people’s standards.
After DALLA DALLA’s self-assurance, go to ICY — official video. JYP describes ICY as a summer song about confidence and conviction, extending the debut’s message.
If Not Shy’s romantic candor grabs you, continue with LOCO — official video. The CRAZY IN LOVE introduction centers that song on intense attraction, giving you another way to hear ITZY approach love.
For another group and an original English-language single, our TWICE listening guide includes “The Feels” alongside four other starting points. It also explains how to move from group songs to a unit or a solo release.
